Initiatives & Support
Self Help Groups (SHGs)
The Sangha provided financial assistance to 298 group-members of 42 SHGs at Makhalia, Jaldhapa, Tasarala, Benipur, Dulalpur, Ghanashyampur, Ramnagar villages of Mograhat-11 Block and 130 group members of 32 SHGs at Mahendraganj, Nagendraganj, Shaspara, Uttar Haradhanpur, Koylapara, Mritunjaynagar, Khas Ramkar, Krishnanagar villages of Sagar Block.
These groups focus on income generation through guava/vegetable gardening, hogla planting, mat making, poultry farming, fishery, betel vine and small businesses like grocery shops, photo frame binding etc. Sangha also provided training followed by financial assistance to produce organic manure by adopting vermi-compost method to the poor at Kakdip, Sagar block.
Mobile Health Care Service
Mobile health care services of the Sangha has been performing activities in 26 remote villages of Sunderban for 13 years. Mobile charitable units provided healthcare service to the poor villages of Andulia, Pranab Pally, Garaguri, Madhyamgram of North 24 Pgs, Hotar and Manmathapur of South 24 Pgs- treatment was provided to 31105 patients last year.
In Gangasagar Islands 2816 patients were treated at our Mahendraganj unit. Nearly 8000 patients were treated at our Lot 8 centre of Kakdip.
Primary Schools Setup
The Sangha started the following 5 primary schools (Pranavananda Vidyamandir) in remote villages of Sunderban to support the weaker sections of society.
The Sangha not only runs free primary school in these places but also provides dresses, books, notebooks, tiffin to the students. Locations include Lot no. 8 (Kakdip) Batiswar (Mathurapur), Manmathapur (Kakdip), Daria (Canning), and Bansberia.
Agricultural & Livelihood Help
In addition to educational and medical aid, the Sangha provides extensive support for regional agriculture. We offer help in paddy production by introducing System Rice Intensification.
Furthermore, we extend vital financial support to local farmers to build Betel Vine production infrastructure and develop sustainable vegetable farming practices.
